Environmental Health

The environment impacts the day-to-day and long-term health of Americans, influencing behaviors, interactions, chemicals in our surroundings and our culture. Environmental health can explain neighborhood health disparities, obesity rates, and urban versus rural chronic diseases, among other health disparities. The Research & Evaluation Group has worked on numerous evaluations focused on environmental health, including an initiative to make Washington D.C.’s multi-unit housing smoke free; the development of a sustainable statewide asthma action plan; and road safety campaigns.

Some of our past and current funders include the American Lung Association and the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
